Switching to compostable packaging does not have to mean higher costs. Here are five practical ways to reduce spend while staying certified.

1. Right-size your bags

Oversized packaging wastes material and money — match bag size to product size.

2. Buy in bulk

Larger orders reduce per-unit cost significantly.

3. Order from standard sizes and thicknesses

Custom sizes and colours are available, but every product page also publishes a standard size and thickness chart covering a wide range of common requirements. Comparing options directly on these charts is the simplest way to find a fit before requesting a custom quote.

4. Match thickness to the load

Thicker film uses more material. Choosing the lowest micron tier that reliably holds the product avoids paying for strength that is not needed. Garbage bags, for example, are available from 25 to 40 micron across different sizes — matching the tier to what is actually going into the bag keeps material spend in line with the job.

5. Consolidate with in-house manufacturing

Film extrusion, printing and bag conversion all happen at Earth Bound Products' facility in Medchal. Sourcing sizes, thicknesses, colours and printing from one manufacturer reduces the coordination and handoffs of dealing with a separate supplier for each stage.
